So, its November.  Thanksgiving is near the end of this month.

A few weeks ago, even before Halloween, I saw lighted Christmas trees in some store windows.   CHRISTMAS TREES in October.  Those lighted Christmas trees inspired me to read the book of Luke.

Zacharias and Elizabeth are “advanced in years” and “barren” when an angel of the LORD appeared to Zacharias and tells him that his wife will conceive and have a son.  This son will “make ready a people prepared for the LORD.”    John the Baptist

Later, this same angel appears to Mary, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.  And behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus.”

AMAZING!   “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”   John 1:14

When Mary went to visit Elizabeth, we read that her baby (John the Baptist) “leaped in her womb”!

Now, that’s what Christmas is about – NOT lighted trees!

I guess it is never too early or out of season to celebrate the coming of Jesus, the coming of our Savior.  We can all rejoice and leap for Joy!
